The first thing that comes to mind when talking about Orlando is theme parks like Walt Disney and Universal Studios. But Orlando is not just about theme parks, it is also surrounded by gorgeous beaches, natural beauty, and historical places.

If you are in Orlando and planning for day trips in your leisure time, below I will be listing some of the best day trips from Orlando that you should definitely add to your list.
No trip to Orlando is complete without visiting Disney, even if it is for an adventure-filled day trip. At Disney World, you can meet all your favorite Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Snow White, Cinderella, and more.
There are also plenty of things to do at the theme park like riding the rollercoasters, visit Magic Kingdom Park, explore Pandora, and more.
With more than six different theme parks, there is no shortage of fun and excitement. This is one day trip that is sure not to disappoint you.
Clearwater Beach, as the name says, is a beach with clear waters and white sands which is a visually pleasing place to visit.
What more can you ask for which provides you the opportunity to dive into the gorgeous coastline of Florida. You can either plan for a picnic with your family, stroll around the area, or explore the nearby restaurants for some delicious foods.
It takes around an hour and a half drive from Orlando to reach Devil’s Den springs which is a natural attraction.
The fossil beds here are 33 million years old which is something you won’t experience every day. The place is an underground cave with natural hot springs. There is also a chimney that leads to the outside.
Devil’s Den got its name because of the steam that rises through the chimney during cold mornings. The location provides diving and snorkeling opportunities for visitors which makes for an excellent weekend trip from Orlando.

Florida Everglades is a popular natural attraction among tourists. The flora and fauna here are a treat to watch. Another reason to visit the place is the American Alligator which is another favorite among tourists.
You can take a boat ride to observe these reptiles. Keep your eye open as you explore the waters as you can see the creatures swimming above the water which is a once in a lifetime experience.
Exploring the everglades is usually through airboat which allows you to watch the real experts at work.
Themed after a kid’s favorite toy, Legoland Florida is a huge theme park spanning over 150 acres, complete with fun-filled rides for the entertainment of the whole family.
The theme park is an hour away from Orlando which will keep you busy for the whole day. It also has many attractions specifically for younger kids which other theme parks may be lacking.
After your adventure-filled rides, you can explore the botanical garden, watch a live show or cool off at the water park.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTRE
Another must-visit family day trip from Orlando to add to your list is the Kennedy Space Center which is the best space center in the USA. The space center is packed with fun-filled activities and is worth a visit.
There are enough attractions to keep you entertained for the whole day including IMAX screenings and several interactive exhibits.
Visitors also get out of the space experience like the opportunity to touch a piece of moon rock, experience the feel of a shuttle take off through cinema, and also get a chance to view the fully restored Saturn V rocket.
Don’t think that it is over yet. You also get the opportunity to learn about the history of space travel right from the days of Neil Armstrong.
BLUE SPRINGS STATE PARK
Who doesn’t love manatees? They are one of the few sea creatures who are friendly and curious enough to interact with humans. And when you visit Blue Springs State Park you can get up close and personal with manatees.
Visitors here can kayak through the St. Johns River, explore the Snake River or the Hontoon Island. You can also explore the wildlife and spot many creatures like bald eagles and ospreys.
If you love hiking you can also find many walking trails on the Island.

BOK TOWER GARDENS
Bok Tower Gardens is a hidden gem surrounded by endangered plants which are home to an impressive monument that bells every day at 1 pm and 3 pm.
The monument was built in 1929 where you can find beautiful gardens with gorgeous walking trails that will let your experience nature at its best.
Once you enter the tower you can learn about the history of the place. You also get a chance to see the bells inside the room. Before you leave the place don’t forget the watch the spectacular views from the surroundings from the top of the monument.

Unleash your inner pirate as you explore one of the oldest cities in the US. One of the biggest attractions is the Pirate and Treasure Museum which is an excellent way to spend the day.
You can also find one of the best collections of pirate treasure and many other interactive displays. New York Post has named this place as one of the best museums in the world which is a reason enough for you to visit here.
