Do you need a permit to camp in the Everglades National Park?
You must register and receive a backcountry camping permit at either the Gulf Coast or Flamingo area of the park no more than 24 hours in advance. Permits are issue between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Staff at the Main Entrance Station issue permits for overnight hikes on the Old Ingraham Highway.
Can you sleep in Everglades National Park?

Generally in the summer, we recommend that you wear shorts, a t-shirt or blouse, and a pair of flip flops or sandals. It rains frequently in the summer so if you have a poncho, bring that with you just in case it starts raining while you’re out on the airboat.
